Camerata Serbica
Serbia / concert
Camerata Serbica was established in 2004 as an orchestra of prominent soloists, professors and assistants from the Faculty of Music in Belgrade.
Camerata Serbica has 45 permanent members, and the best graduate students and selected musicians from other orchestras join them as well. The decisive criterion for invitation to the orchestra is that a musician has a successful solo career. Recognizing the high artistic quality of the orchestra, the United Nations in Serbia and Montenegro accepted sponsorship of the concert season 2005/2006 in which Camerata Serbica was a promoter of the Millennium Development Goals of the United Nations. The orchestra performed at many prestigious festivals in Serbia and abroad.
Some of the most important artists such as Luciano Pavarotti, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Emmanuel Pahud, Marjana Lipovšek, Wilfried Strehle, Rainer Honeck, Lorenz Nasturica, Cordelia Höfer performed with this ensemble, as well as the most important Serbian musicians and conductors.
In honor of 70 Years of the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, Camerata Serbica published CD with the Serbian and world top soloists.
