Kings of Strings The Youngsters

The new project of Guitar Art Festival “Kings of Strings The Youngsters” has a premier performance on 14th March in Belgrade

The new festival production and project “Kings of String The Youngsters” has gathered young talents and great virtuosos this this time. The first joint performance of three completely different artists is bind by great dedication to the guitar and the readiness to build a common sound and the artists are Moses Rosenberg, from the famous Rosenberg family, with his famous „manouche“style, Giorgos Georgopoulos the Greek virtuoso on bouzouki and the versatile fingerstyle Serbian guitarist Bojan Ivanovski.

The guitarists come from different musical and geographic regions, from Greece to the Netherlands, from bouzouki to gipssy jazz – the merger of such different heritage represents a true challenge for the musicians.

The guitar group “Kings of String The Youngsters” will have their first concert in front of  the Belgrade audience on 14th March in Kombank dvorana. Mozes Rosenberg was born into the famous Rosenberg family, as the younger brother of Stochelo. He started playing the guitar when he was 6 years old. His teachers were his father Mimer, his brother Stochelo and his uncle Waso Grünholz. Waso is the founder of the Dutch Sinti jazz style so Mozes learned from the very source of this now world renowned musical tradition. At his 7th he already played with The Rosenberg Trio on Dutch television. After that he was inspired by many famous musicians, such as flamenco legend Paco de Lucia whom he met in 1996.

Giorgos Georgopoulos was born in Athens in 1983, and he moved in Kalamata with his family when he was eight years old. There he had his first music lessons at the age of nine. He participated in different bands from an early age. He studied music at the Department of Traditional Music in Arta, Greece.He performed as a soloist in famous orchestras and in big festivals all over the world. Some of the places he gave concerts are Croatia, Zurich, Bern, Frankfurt, Skopje, Gothenburg in Sweden, Shanghai, Austria, Cyprus, England etc. He has performed with the most famous singers in Greece but the last years he is pursuing his career as a soloist.

Bojan Ivanovski is a fingerstyle guitarist, songwriter, best known for his complex fingerstyle technique, energetic performances, and the use of percussive effects on the guitar. He began his musical education at the Music School "Josip Slavenski" in Belgrade, where he finished high school in class of prof. Nenad Kondic. He passed the entrance exam at the "Royal College of Music" in London and the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. He graduated from the Faculty of Music in Belgrade in the class of prof. Vere Ogrizović and continued specialization in Italy "Francisco Tarrega" Academy with prof. Paolo Pergoraro. So far, he participated in numerous competitions at home and abroad, and he was very successfull. He won over 20 first prizes. As a musician, his the most important prize is laureate in the international competition for all musical instruments "ITHAKA 2007" Ljubljana, among over 100 candidates from all instrumental sections. In the past 10 years of professional work as a studio musician, where playing and studying the different styles of the guitar, he was is inspired to make the project A Whole New World where on live performances he combines classical, jazz and rock style of guitar playing.
