Competition
The Guitar Art Competition has gained a reputation as one of the most famous and demanding international competitions for classical guitarists. The competition brings together pupils and students from all over the world, who compete in 6 age categories, in two stages in solo guitar, and three categories in guitar in chamber music and guitar orchestra.
SOLO GUITAR:
Category I: Candidates born in 2014 or younger

NOTES:
* Competition is open to all interested candidates.
* Only active, passive, or employed participants of the Festival have the right to perform in the competition, except for candidates competing in Guitar in chamber music and Category I and II in Solo guitar, who can participate in the competition without being active or passive participants of the Festival.
* The prices for participation in the competition:
Solo guitar: I category: 30€; II category: 40€; III category: 50€; IV category: 60€; V category: 70€; VI category: 80€.
Guitar in chamber music: I category: 40€ + 5€ per member; II category: 60€ + 10€ per member; III category: 80€ + 15€ per member;
* The competition is open to the audience.
* Competition in Solo guitar will be judged by four different juries in the first stage and a two global juries in the second stage. Competition in Guitar in the chamber music will be judged by one global jury.
* The decisions of the juries are final.
* The list of candidates will be determined by draw and announced on May 14th, 2025, at 18:00 at High school Dositej (Festival's office), as well as on the official Festival’s website and social media.
* At the end of the I stage of III, IV, V, and VI Category, on May 16th at 19:00, at High school Dositej (Festival's office), as well as on the official Festival’s website and social media, the score list for all categories of the I stage in solo guitar competition will be announced.
* 5 candidates from the III, IV, V, and VI categories will continue to compete in the second stage (finals).
* The candidates must perform the compositions by heart.
* The candidates cannot play the same composition in both the first and second stage.
* The allowed duration of the composition refers to the candidate’s performance as a whole.
* If a candidate exceeds the time limit, the jury has the right to stop the performance of the candidate.
* In the case that two candidates have the same score, the younger one will be given priority.
* Candidates competing in Guitar in chamber music are allowed to freely form duo or ensemble composition (instrumental, baroque, classical, vocal, non-standard, etc.).
* Money and other awards will be given to the winners of the competition on May 18th, 2025.
* The jury evaluation of all categories will be transparent and available to the candidates for revision and conversation with the jury members, live, or online.
* The Festival retains the right to make changes and to have its own method of evaluation, with which the candidates agree.
