The flute and guitar duo of Linda Chatterton, flute, and Maja Radovanlija, guitar, unites two soloists who have performed throughout the world to critical acclaim. Their repertoire spans four centuries, from Baroque to the present day, and encompasses musical styles from classical to popular. Performance highlights of their 2017-18 season include concert tours of Thailand and China and the world premiere of a piece written for them by composer Aaron Travers at the Havana Festival of Contemporary Music in Cuba. 

Maja Radovanlija was born in Belgrade, Serbi. As a child, she won several awards in music festivals and competitions in former Yugoslavia.  During her music high school education, she won second prize at the Petar Konjevic International Competition in Belgrade, performed her first solo recital and took part in a classical music show for National Television of Serbia. Other than classical repertoire, she was strongly attracted to jazz and improvised music. Maja continued seeking ways to incorporate improvisation in her musical experience, mostly through playing with a variety of ensembles.

Ms. Chatterton has performed in New York at Carnegie and Alice Tully halls, was a featured recitalist on the prestigious Dame Myra Hess series in Chicago, and has been heard throughout the US many times on National Public Radio’s Performance Today.  Ms. Chatterton has performed with numerous groups including the Minnesota Orchestra, and she tours regularly as a duo performer with harp, guitar and piano. As a concerto soloist, highlights include many performances of traditional and contemporary repertoire in the US and Europe. She has served as a US Arts Ambassador overseas and is a regular performer and lecturer at the National Flute Association’s and British Flute Society’s conferences.
