Serbia

Tamara Jokić (1990) was born in Valjevo. She had her first public performance at the age of 6, and at the age of 14 she started singing fado music. Through music, she began studying Portuguese and Spanish and after completing her Master's studies, she received a scholarship for a singing study program at Berkeley. She has performed in Belgrade and throughout Serbia, then in Europe and in the USA where she presented her solo repertoire in Boston and, in the prestigious Carnegie Hall and Symphony Space in New York. Tamara writes her own music that is coloured by Spanish and Mediterranean sentiment, but presented in a contemporary musical context.

Tamara, with her recent project Transibérica, which is her debut album based on the fusion of Spanish and Portuguese music, presented this geographical and artistic space. The album was made under the seal of Sony Portugal (SME Iberia), in collaboration with famous Spanish producer and guitarist Javier Limón and acclaimed composer Diogo Clemente.
