VIENTOS DEL ERESMA
Spain
Vientos del Eresma is a flamenco performance that brings together the three essential elements of this art form – voice, dance, and music – presenting them from a unique perspective that resonates with the sensibility of the people of Castile, their music, landscapes, and traditions. The idea of connecting flamenco and Castile originated from the roots of the ensemble’s members, who come from Segovia and share a deep emotional and cultural bond with the region.

The ensemble takes us on a musical journey that spans from Castilian folklore to the deepest layers of flamenco, enriched with subtle touches of jazz. Their first joint performance took place in 2023 at the “Tremolo” International Guitar Festival in Skopje, North Macedonia. The Spanish debut was held in March 2024 at the “Flamencura” Festival in La Granja de San Ildefonso, and just two months later, Vientos del Eresma performed at the renowned “Las Noches del Atrio” festival in Segovia.
The repertoire, entirely conceived and composed by Dani Hernández, is deeply rooted in flamenco while drawing clear references to Castilian tradition. Within flamenco forms such as seguiriyas, malagueñas, alegrías, guajiras, verdiales, tarantas, bulerías, and tangos, one can recognize melodic traces of traditional Castilian music. The influence of Agapito Marazuela – the renowned musician and folklorist from Segovia – is also unmistakable. The lyrics combine original and traditional songs, both flamenco and Castilian, along with verses by Antonio Machado.
