Born in Piraeus (Athens port), George Dalaras comes from a tradition of folk and blues music. He was the first musician to take the Greek music out of the conventional club environment and to perform at large concert venues. He has released 85 individual and more than 70 albums in cooperation with prominent musicians. During his long career, George Dalaras has worked with important Greek composers, among others, with Mikis Theodorakis, Stavros Kouyioumtzis, Manos Loizos, Apostolos Kaldaras, etc. He has performed with famed orchestras at prestigious concert halls all over the world, such as the Palais des Congrès, the Olympia Theatre in Paris, the Royal Albert Hall in London, etc. Memorable performances with Sting, Paco de Lucía, Al Di Meola, Goran Bregovic, Ian Anderson, Joan Faulkner and others have marked his impressive career.
