Balkan Gypsy Jazz Quartet performs original music by Dejan Krsmanović in the style of Balkan/Gypsy/Jazz, and the repertoire also includes well-known works of standard jazz. Dejan Krsmanović is a composer and guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. After finishing high school, Dejan enrolled in the Berklee Jazz Faculty in Boston. Due to the unfavorable circumstances in Serbia caused by the embargo, he did not go to study there. In the following years, he composed and produced music for radio and TV commercials for media companies and business entities in Serbia. Since 2010, he has been engaged in music in two fields: composing for his orchestra (in the Balkan Gypsy Jazz genre; 5 released albums) and composing and producing music for the media (6 released albums).

He published the first album entitled Znaš šta!? in 2012. He had a successful collaboration with the famous producer and guitarist Jon Larsen from Norway when Larsen released Dejan's composition Maro, Maro on the now anthological compilation dedicated to Django Reinhardt, which also includes world-famous names of this type of jazz. He released his second album Komedija in collaboration with harmonica virtuoso Jordan Đević in 2019. In August 2020, the Dejan Krsmanović Trio performed at the Nišvil Jazz Fest. In 2021, Dejan released two new albums: Ja sam! and Repertoar, where he published new original music and some well-known jazz-standard works in his arrangement. In August 2022, Dejan performed with his quartet at Django Feszt Budapest. The year 2023 stands out as one of Dejan's most successful years when he received two invitations to perform at the most famous gypsy jazz festivals in the world, Django Reinhardt Festival (Fontainebleau) and Au Gres du Jazz (La Petite Pierre).
