Camerata Serbica was established in 2004 as an orchestra of prominent soloists, professors and assistants of the Faculty of Music in Belgrade.
Camerata Serbica has 45 permanent members, and the best graduate students and selected musicians of other orchestras join them also. Decisive criteria for invitation to the orchestra are that a musician has a successful solo career. Recognizing the high artistic quality of the orchestra Camerata Serbica, the United Nations in Serbia and Montenegro has accepted sponsorship of the concert season 2005/2006 in which the Camerata Serbica was a promoter of the Millennium Development Goals of the United Nations. Camerata Serbica has performed within many prestigious festivals in the country and abroad. Some of the most important artists of today performed with this ensemble: Luciano Pavarotti, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Emmanuel Pahud, Marjana Lipovšek, Wilfried Strehle, Rainer Honek, Lorenz Nasturica, Cordelia Hoefer, as well as the most important Serbian musicians and conductors.
