Diva from Lisbon is coming back to Belgrade with a brand new program and scene design on the tour for just released album Fado Tradicional. The fifth studio album of the fado’s first lady was released in late November and has already reached platinum in Portugal, and it’s release in Serbia is soon expected. In the center of Mariza’s upcoming tour will be a new album from which Promete, Jura was released as a first single.
New scene was designed by the famous American architect Frank Gehry, whose design made colossal amphitheaters feel like authentic Lisbon taverns, creating a complete sense of intimacy between Mariza and her audience. The subtle light, elegant drapes and tables with the audience on stage next to Mariza, are contributing to this new tour in full accord with her return to the traditional fado which she listened as a girl in her father’s tavern, a typical one for bohemian quarter of Muraria. Mariza achieved a planetary success with multi-platinum album Fado em Mim (2001), Fado Curvo (2003), Transparente (2005) and Terra (2008), with few exceptional DVD releases that got large audience feel as a part of what the Portuguese singer gives when performing live. The world’s most prestigious halls like Royal Albert Hall, Carnegie Hall, The Barbican, The Hollywood Bowl or the Sydney Opera House, were all sold out for Mariza’s exeptional concerts.
