From Rio de Janeiro, Daniel Marques became a reference in Brazilian guitar worldwide winning major awards. He continues to explore telling different stories with his instrument. His Andalucian gipsy roots blended with his native roots from the Amazon have a big influence on his unique musicality. Daniel has performed in solo, duo and trio formats and alongside orchestras in more than 200 cities throughout Europe, USA, Asia and South America. His last album with string quartet is a good example of the versatility of his playing and writing.

With a fruitful career also as a composer and arranger, Daniel won the most important award in Brazilian music, the “Prêmio da Música Brasileira”, known as the Brazilian Grammy. Also, he got international recognition from prestigious media such as The New York Times and The Rolling Stone Magazine.

Belonging to the same Brazilian generation of seven-string guitar players as Yamandu Costa, Marques presents an unique sound based on innovative basslines blended with percussive elements. His deep knowledge of Brazilian music expresses sofistication evokingthe diversity of a huge country which eventually embraces elements of the music of the whole world.
