Cecilia Siqueira was born in Paysandú, Uruguay in 1982, Cecilia Siqueira began playing guitar at an early age, guided by her musician parents. She studied with Hugo Acosta in Paysandú and César Amaro Carlevaro in Montevideo, quickly establishing herself as a rising talent by winning national competitions at just 15. Her international breakthrough came in 2001 when she won the Pro-Música International Guitar Competition in Brazil and released her debut album Lo vendre in Germany. Since then, Cecilia has performed across South America, Europe, and the United States, including venues like London’s Royal Festival Hall and Queen Elizabeth Hall.

In 2003, she moved to São Paulo and formed the Duo Siqueira Lima with Fernando de Lima. The duo has released multiple albums and toured extensively across more than 20 countries. Cecilia also teaches and conducts masterclasses at institutions including the University of Florida, SMU Meadows School of the Arts, and the Royal Conservatory of Liège.
