Born in 2000 in Poprad, Augustín Mušuta began studying classical guitar in 2007 at the Elementary School of Arts in Spišská Nová Ves under the guidance of Zuzana Dudžáková, Michaela Regecová, and Zuzana Pavlíková. From 2016 to 2020, he continued his education at the Conservatory in Košice in the class of MgA. Jozef Haluza. In 2025, he completed his studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, where he studied with Karol Samuelčík.

During his studies, he took part in numerous guitar competitions and received several awards. He further enriched his musical training through masterclasses with renowned artists such as József Eötvös, Alberto Mesirca, Susana Prieto, Ryszard Bałauszko, Fabrizio Ferraro, Daniel Paredes, Krzysztof Pełech, among others.

The year 2024 marked an especially active period in his artistic development. In March, he recorded works by Slovak composer Ľuboš Bernáth for the “My Debut” project at Real Music House. Later that year, he won 3rd prize at the international guitar competition in Dolný Kubín and received the special award of the director of the Modra International Guitar Festival, which included an invitation to perform a recital at the 2025 edition of the festival.

In June 2024, he performed abroad in Olomouc (CZ), Katowice (PL), Budapest (HU), and later in Bratislava (SK) as part of the J. K. Mertz Guitar Festival. In 2025, he was also featured in the Pro Futuro Artis concert series as member of a guitar duo with Filip Babić.

Augustín continues to develop his artistic career through various projects and concert engagements in Slovakia and abroad.

SLOVAK GUITAR TRIO

Three distinguished young guitarists – Karol Samuelčík, Filip Babić, and Augustín Mušuta, have come together to form the Slovak Guitar Trio, a chamber ensemble founded on the exchange of cultures, generations, and artistic sensibilities. Their story began at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, where they first met in different roles: Karol as a professor, and Filip and Augustín as his students. Today, reunited on stage as colleagues, the teacher and his two former students perform side by side, transforming this personal connection into a broader artistic statement.

With extensive solo experience across Europe and worldwide, having collaborated with numerous chamber ensembles and orchestras, the three musicians now unite their forces in a unique trio, open to dialogue and the exploration of the guitar’s expressive possibilities. The ensemble, bringing together artists with diverse artistic perspectives and cultural backgrounds, offers an international approach to music, blending a wide spectrum of sensibilities into a dynamic chamber sound.

Rooted in Slovakia yet transcending local and cultural boundaries, the trio’s concerts aim not only to showcase the virtuosity of the classical guitar but also to affirm its power to connect people across borders, languages, and generations, promoting cultural exchange and building direct links between communities through music and art.
